Grilled Pork Chops with Cherry Relish

  1. Season pork lightly with pepper.
  2. Place in shallow baking dish.
  3. Pour soy sauce over.
  4. Turn chops to coat.
  5. Cover; chill 1 hour, turning occasionally.
  6. Heat oil in small skillet over medium heat.
  7. Add onion, ginger and garlic; saute until onion is almost tender, about 5 minutes.
  8. Add cherries; saute until cherries begin to soften, about 8 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat.
  10. Season with salt.
  11. Prepare barbecue (medium-high heat) or preheat broiler.
  12. Remove pork from marinade.
  13. Grill pork until cooked through, about 4 minutes per side.
  14. Transfer to plates.
  15. Spoon relish over.
