Fluffy Rice

  1. In a medium-sized saucepan, bring the water or broth to a boil.
  2. In another medium-sized pan over medium heat, combine olive oil and garlic.
  3. Stir for 30 seconds.
  4. Add the rinsed uncooked rice and mix everything together.
  5. Pour the boiled water/broth into the rice mixture.
  6. Add salt and pepper.
  7. Reduce heat to medium/low, cover and simmer until tender and all the liquids are absorbed, about 15 or 20 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat.
  9. After cooking, let the rice rest for a total of five minutes.
  10. After that time you can remove the cover, fluff and separate the grains with a fork.
