Olive Garden's Chicken Carbonara
- 1 large chicken breast
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1/2 tbsp italian seasoning
- 1/2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 stick of butter
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic
- 6 slice of bacon, crumbled
- 1 1/2 tbsp flour
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- 2 cup heavy milk
- 2 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 lb linguini
- 1 1/2 tbsp parmesan cheese
- 1 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp fresh chopped parsley
- whisk ingredients 2-5 together and place in bag with chicken
- refrigerate chicken for at least 30 minutes
- cook the pasta while making sauce
- for the sauce:
- melt stick of butter in a large saucepan over medium heat
- add a garlic and bacon bits
- saute for 5 minutes stirring frequently
- add the flour, parmesan cheese, heavy cream, milk, pepper and salt.
- Whisk together.
- bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and bring to a simmer.
- Stir occasionally
- in a large bowl combine the parmesan, mozzarella, garlic and parsley.
- Set aside.
- in a large skillet cook the chicken until done.
- cut into pieces.
- add the cut chicken into the sauce mixture, and let it simmer for about 3 minutes
- place pasta in large serving bowl and pour the sauce over the pasta
- add in the parmeasn, mozz, garlic and parsley mixture, and mix together
