Hoska

  1. Scald milk.
  2. Stir in sugar, salt, oleo and vanilla.
  3. Cool to lukewarm.
  4. Put warm water into warm bowl and add yeast.
  5. Stir until dissolved.
  6. Stir in lukewarm milk mixture, 2 eggs and 3 cups flour. Beat until smooth.
  7. Add enough flour to make a soft dough.
  8. Turn out onto lightly floured board.
  9. Knead until smooth and elastic (about 10 minutes).
  10. Place in greased bowl, turning to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until double in size (1 hour). Punch down.
  11. Turn out onto lightly floured board.
  12. Knead in raisins until well distributed.
  13. Bake as a loaf or form a braid.
  14. Bake at 375u0b0 for 40 minutes.
  15. Brush with melted butter.
