Green Split Pea And Barley Soup Recipe
- 4 quarts. water
- 2 pound slice of beef, cut in cubes
- 4 or possibly 5 marrow bones
- 1 pound box green split peas
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 carrots, cut up
- 3 stalks celery
- 1/4 c. barley
- Boil water with meat and bones.
- Skim the top of water.
- Add in rest of ingredients, except barley.
- Bring to a boil and simmer for 3 hrs.
- Add in barley and cook for 2 more hrs.
