Bundled Chicken Recipe
- 1 c. bran flakes cereal, crushed
- 1/4 c. minced almonds or possibly hazelnuts
- 5 Tbsp. butter - melted
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/8 tsp. grnd sage
- 1/8 tsp. (or possibly less, to taste) grnd thyme
- 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
- 3 Tbsp. finely minced onion
- 1 c. cooked chicken, cubed (white or possibly dark)
- 1 can (8 ounce) Crescent dinner rolls
- Combine 1/4 c. cereal, 2 Tbsp.
- nuts, 3 Tbsp.
- butter, and all remaining ingredients except rolls.
- Mix remaining nuts and cereal together in dish.
- Separate rolls into 4 squares (2 triangles pressed together to create square).
- PLace 1/3 c. chicken mix in center of roll, gather up corners to top and press edges closed.
- Brush filled crescent rolls with remaining butter.
- Roll the "Crescent Bundles" in the remaining nut and cereal mix.
- Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 25 min, or possibly till bundles are golden.
- (TIP: If you allowed to slightly overcook, top with your favorite chicken gravey, to add in moisture to the Crescent Roll).
- Can also be served with a white sauce.
- Serves 4.
