Crisp Sugar Drop Cookies Recipe
- 2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Arm & Hammer or possibly Cow brand soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 2 tbsp. white (distilled) vinegar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon rind
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1.
- Sift flour with baking soda and salt.
- 2.
- Combine egg with vinegar, lemon rind and vanilla.
- 3.
- Cream butter and shortening till smooth and fluffy.
- 4.
- Add in sugar gradually, creaming well.
- 5.
- Add in dry ingredients and egg mix alternately, a little at a time, blending well after each addition.
- 6.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet and flatten with floured tines of fork.
- Sprinkle with sugar.
- 7.
- Bake at 400 degrees F. (warm oven) 10 to 12 min.
