Bacon and Cheese Chicken Burger
- 6 slices smoky bacon
- 4 thin slices sweet onions, minced
- salt and black pepper
- cayenne pepper
- 14 cup minced fresh basil
- 1 12 tablespoons light sour cream
- 13 cup gruyere cheese, grated
- 1 lb ground chicken or 1 lb turkey
- cornmeal
- 4 -5 hamburger buns, toasted
- 1 leaf lettuce
- avocado, slices
- tomatoes, slices
- Fry the bacon until crisp.
- Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.
- Crumble into small bits.
- Drain most of the bacon grease from the skillet.
- Add the onion and cook until softened.
- Add the seasonings, basil and sour cream and stir to combine.
- Cool.
- Sprinkle the reserved bacon bits and cheese on a cutting board.
- Mix with the meat.
- Shape into 4 or 5 patties.
- Roll in the cornmeal.
- Grill 4-5 minutes or until center is opaque.
- Serve on buns with lettuce, avocado and tomato.
