Oatmeal Brown Sugar Cookies

  1. Heat oven to 375F.
  2. Combine brown sugar, butter and egg in bowl.
  3. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
  4. Add all remaining cookie ingredients; beat at low speed until well mixed.
  5. Stir in chocolate pieces.
  6. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake 10-14 minutes or until light golden brown on edges.
  8. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to cooling rack.
  9. Cool completely.
  10. *Substitute raisins, cut-up gumdrops, chopped nuts, chocolate, butterscotch or vanilla chips.
