Creamy Southern Grits
- 2 cup grits
- 6 cup water
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp Lawry's seasoned salt
- 4 cup colby jack cheese shredded
- 4 oz margarine, butter or ghee
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- In a pot with a tight fitting lid add water and grits bring water to boil add half of margarine, butter, or ghee
- Stir well for no lumps in grits add salt and pepper
- Boil till grits are almost done add milk and cheese stirring constantly when cheese is melted add half of margarine, butter, or ghee
