Margherita Pizza
- 1 recipe pizza dough
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, sliced
- 8 oz. fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 2 tomatoes, sliced
- 4 sprigs basil, chiffonade
- Salt and freshly cracked pepper, to taste
- Preheat oven to 425F.
- Prepare the pizza dough and roll out onto a pizza tray.
- Brush olive oil over dough and sprinkle with garlic.
- Arrange the mozzarella slices first, then the tomato slices around the pizza.
- Place pizza in oven and bake for 12 minutes, until crust is a light golden brown.
- Remove from oven.
- Turn on broiler and place pizza below broiler for about 1 minute, until the mozzerella has turned golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle basil over top the pizza.
- Slice and serve.
