Heartland Chowder

  1. Melt butter in 3-qt.
  2. saucepan on medium heat.
  3. Add flour; stir with wire whisk until well blended.
  4. Gradually add milk, stirring until well blended.
  5. Stir in water.
  6. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
  7. Add cheese; cook until cheese is completely melted, stirring constantly.
  8. Stir in remaining ingredients; cover.
  9. Reduce heat to medium-low.
  10. Simmer 10 min.
  11. or until heated through, stirring occasionally.
