Whole Wheat Dinner Rolls
- 1 c. water
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
- 1 Tbsp. molasses
- 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- vegetable cooking spray
- 1 egg
- In small saucepan, heat first 3 ingredients until very warm (120u0b0 to 130u0b0).
- In large bowl, blend warm liquid, 1 cup all-purpose flour, 3/4 cup whole wheat flour, sugar, salt, yeast and egg at low speed until moistened.
- Beat 4 minutes at medium speed.
- By hand, stir in remaining wheat flour and enough all-purpose flour to form stiff dough.
- Knead for 5 minutes.
- Place dough in vegetable-sprayed bowl.
- Cover and let rise in warm place until double in size, 45 to 60 minutes.
- Then punch down dough. Divide dough in 20 pieces; shape into balls.
- Place on greased pan; cover and let rise for 30 to 45 minutes.
- Heat oven to 375u0b0.
- Bake 15 minutes until golden brown.
