Glazed Baked Apples Cointreau Recipe
- 6 lg. baking apples
- 1 tbsp. grated orange peel
- 1 c. orange juice
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- Dash of salt
- 1/2 c. slivered almonds
- 2 tbsp. Cointreau
- Core apples about 1/3 of the way down from stem end, set in baking pan pared ends up.
- Mix together orange peel, orange juice, brown sugar, and salt in a pan and bring to a boil; pour over the apples.
- Bake at 350 degrees till apples are tender, basting several times with the orange syrup.
- Just before serving dribble the Cointreau over the apples and sprinkle a few almonds over each one.
- Serve with cream, plain or possibly whipped.
