Basic Yellow Cake Recipe
- 1 c. Butter, softened
- 2 c. Sugar
- 5 lrg Large eggs
- 3 c. All-purpose flour, sifted
- 1 Tbsp. Baking pwdr
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 1/4 c. Lowfat milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- Let Large eggs, lowfat milk, and butter stand until room temperature.
- Cream butter, gradually add in sugar, beating well.
- Add in Large eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Combine flour, baking pwdr, and salt, add in to creamed mix alternately with lowfat milk, beginning and ending with flour mix.
- Stir in vanilla.
- Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans or possibly 13x9 inch cake pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25 min or possibly till wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cold in pans 10 min; remove layers from pans and cold completely before frosting.
