Mozzarella Sticks

  1. Cut the brick of mozzarella cheese into 8 sticks.
  2. Beat the eggs in a bowl.
  3. Put the breadcrumbs in another bowl.
  4. Coat cheese with egg then dredge in the breadcrumbs.
  5. Repeat this step so that the cheese is double coated.
  6. Place coated cheese on a baking tray and freeze for at least 2 hours.
  7. The longer the better.
  8. When you are ready to cook, heat vegetable oil in a deep sided pot over medium heat until it is hot enough to fry.
  9. Take cheese out of the freezer right before frying.
  10. Place frozen cheese into the hot oil.
  11. Watch closely, the outside will brown quickly and you do not want to overcook and lose all your cheese!
  12. Once the bottom is brown, flip over and let other side brown.
  13. Place on paper towels to drain off excess oil.
  14. Serve and enjoy with some tomato sauce.
