Hunt's Ranchero Steak and Beans
- 1 12 lbs boneless round steak or 1 12 lbs chuck steaks, well trimmed
- 14 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 18 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 12 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained (optional)
- 3 (15 1/2 ounce) canshunt's chili beans
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- Cut meat into serving pieces; trim fat.
- Combine flour, salt and pepper, and pound into meat.
- Brown meat in oil in large skillet.
- Add onion and green pepper,and cook until soft.
- Add beans, tomato sauce and mushrooms.
- Cover; simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.
- Makes 6 servings.
- Serve with rice, or a tossed salad and cornbread.
