Grandma's Sausage Dressing Recipe
- 1 pound pork sausage
- 1/2 c. minced celery
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sage
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1 tbsp. parsley
- 10-13 slices bread, partially dry, broken in sm. pcs
- 1 c. minced red apple
- 1 c. raisins
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 - 1 1/2 c. turkey broth
- Brown sausage and drain grease.
- Add in celery, onion, salt, sage, thyme and parsley and mix well.
- Add in 1/2 c. water and bread, cook on medium low heat for about 15 min.
- Add in apple and raisins.
- Remove from heat and cover.
- Mix will be dry.
- Let cold in pan.
- Chill overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Pour 1 to 1 1/2 c. turkey broth over mix, cover and bake 45 min.
- Can be put inside the turkey.
- Better if made the night before.
