Sourdough Biscuits Recipe

  1. Combine flour and baking soda in a non-metal bowl; stir well.
  2. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender till mix resembles coarse meal.
  3. Add in Sourdough Starter and buttermilk, stirring till dry ingredients are moistened.
  4. Turn dough out onto a floured surface; knead lightly 10 to 12 times.
  5. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness; cut with a 2 3/4 inch biscuit cutter.
  6. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet and brush tops with butter.
  7. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 min.
  8. Yield: 10 biscuits.
