Tasty and Easy Basic Udon Noodle Soup Base

  1. Add all the ingredients to a pot.
  2. Bring to a boil.
  3. Add the noodles.
  4. You're done in just a blink of an eye, once the soup comes to a slight simmer again.
  5. I use koikuchi (regular) soy sauce.
  6. If you use usukuchi (light-colored) soy sauce, the color will be paler, and the soup will taste a bit more mellow.
