Cowtown Cookers' Basic Barbecue Sauce

  1. Combine all ingredients except water in a large, heavy pot.
  2. Pour water into empty ketchup bottle and swirl around.
  3. Pour into pot.
  4. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer two hours.
