Cube Steak Rye Sandwiches Recipe
- 1 - 1 1/2 lbs. beef cube steaks (4 med.)
- 1/4 teaspoon cracked pepper
- 2-3 teaspoon oil
- 4 tbsp. oil
- 2 slices tomatoes
- 8 slices rye bread with caraway seeds
- 1 lg. red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- Sprinkle steaks with pepper.
- Brown steaks in 4 Tbsp.
- oil and butter, about 4 min on each side.
- While steaks are cooking, drizzle about 1 tsp.
- oil on each bread slice.
- Broil lightly, turn and top with onion slices.
- Drizzle with more oil and broil till lightly browned.
- Sprinkle with cheese and broil a few seconds more.
- Place steaks on bread and onion, add in slice of tomato and top with slice of bread with onion on top.
- Serves 4.
