Al Quie's Thick Lentil Soup Recipe

  1. In large soup kettle, sauce bacon, onions, carrots, and garlic till onion is tender.
  2. Add in water, broth, tomato paste, potatoes, lentils, salt, cloves and bay leaves.
  3. Simmer, covered, for 1-1/2 hrs.
  4. Add in vinegar and sausages and cook another 1/2 hour.
  5. Remove bay leaves before serving.
  6. Makes 12 servings.
