Apples In Cardamom Cream Recipe
- 4 x Frzn puff pastry shells
- 1 Tbsp. Unsalted butter, plus
- 1 tsp Unsalted butter
- 4 lrg Jonathan apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- 3 Tbsp. Sugar
- 1/2 c. Evaporated skim lowfat milk
- 1/4 tsp Grnd cardamom
- 2 Tbsp. Minced pecans
- Bake puff pastry shells according to package directions.
- Heat butter in a heavy nonstick skillet over medium high heat.
- Saute/fry apples and sugar 12-15 min, stirring frequently.
- (Reduce heat if necessary to keep apples from burning.)
- When apples begin to caramelize, reduce heat to medium.
- Stir in evaporated lowfat milk and cardamom.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to medium low.
- Simmer 1 minute.
- Stir in pecans.
- Just before serving, spoon fruit mix into baked puff pastry shells.
