Soft Japanese-Style Pork Steak with a Hint of Wasabi
- 2 cuts Pork roast or loin (for tonkatsu)
- 1 tbsp White flour
- 1 Vegetable oil
- 1 Side vegetables
- 1 tbsp Mild vinegar
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Sake
- 1 tbsp Mirin
- 1 tbsp Tempered wasabi
- Use a knife to make delicate cuts in the fat and muscle parts of the meat.
- (This is to keep it from shrinking from overcooking.)
- Use the flat part to pound the meat to soften.
- Cover the meat with flour, shaking off any excess.
- Coat a pan with oil and cook both sides until golden brown.
- Add all of the flavoring ingredients and cook until the moisture has evaporated.
- Transfer to a plate and it's finished.
