Chicken Not-So-Crescents
- 1 container Philadelphia Cream Cheese (the Tub Size, 16oz, Or 2 Bricks), Room Temperature
- 1 cup Diced Chicken, Chicken Breast, Left-over Turkey, Whichever You Choose
- 1/2 bunches Scallions/green Onions, Finely Chopped
- 1 cup Raw Spinach, Chopped (frozen Is Okay, But Press Out The Water)
- 2 pinches Or So Garlic Powder, Seasoned Salt, Etc., To Taste (optional)
- 1/2 sticks Butter, Melted (optional)
- 1 cup Dry Stuffing (optional)
- 1 jar Chicken Gravy
- 3 containers Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
- Grab your cookie sheets (youll need 2) and turn the oven to 350 or whatever it says on the crescent roll package.
- In a good sized mixing bowl, mix cream cheese, chicken, scallions, and spinach.
- (Feel free to add some crumbled bacon, or some left over ham, or whatever seems to taste good to you!)
- The chicken breast in can is fine, just cut it up smaller.
- I especially like this recipe near the holidays because its a great way to use up the left over turkey or chicken that normally would get turned into soup or tossed!
- Add/blend in some garlic powder, season salt, hot pepper flakes, etc, whatever you like to taste, although this filling is so rich you might be okay without it.
- Open up a can of crescent rolls.
- Take one triangle, put a large, heaping spoonful of the mixture in the middle, and fold it up, pinch all sides to make sure it wont ooze out.
- Place on cookie sheet.
- Repeat x 23 more times, assuming your can of crescent rolls has 8 rolls per can!
- OPTIONAL PART: Once situated on your cookie sheets, brush melted butter over the tops and sprinkle with crushed dry stuffing crumbs.
- Bake according to crescent roll directions, about 8-11 minutes or until golden brown.
- Spoon drizzle with gravy and serve, careful the filling is HOT.
- Awesome comfort food.
- I say it feeds 8 because this feeds 4 adults in my family, twice.
- They are awesome the next day, cold for lunch, too.
