Checking Meat With a Cake Tester
- 1 Piece of meat
- 1 Cake tester
- A cake tester is a fine gauge wore with a handle on it.
- It was designed to be inserted into baked goods to check fore doneness.
- It can also be used for meat.
- When your protein is in the realm of 'I think it's done', press your cake tester into it's widest point, the part that should take the longest to cook.
- Leave the tester for a moment.
- Remove and hold the wire to your inner wrist.
- If it's hot, you're ready to plate.
- This method can be more accurate than the old finger poke, but it does take some learning.
- It can be applied any time you wanna make sure something is heated through..
