Yakitori with My Family's Yummy Sauce
- 1 thigh Chicken thigh
- 1 Japanese leek
- 70 ml Soy sauce
- 3 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tbsp Mirin
- 1 tbsp Sake
- 1 tbsp Water
- 1 Vegetable oil
- 6 Bamboo skewers
- Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces, and cut the Japanese leek into 2 cm pieces.
- Alternately skewer the chicken and Japanese leek.
- Use 3 pieces of chicken and 2 pieces of Japanese leek.
- Add the ingredients in a small pot, and turn on the heat to medium.
- When it starts to boil, mix with a spatula so that it won't burn, and simmer until thickened.
- Simultaneously, heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, and arrange the Step 1 skewers.
- Cover with a lid and leave it ajar.
- Pan-fry over medium-high until both sides are browned.
- Drizzle the Step 2 sauce into Step 3.
- When the chicken and leek are evenly coated with the sauce, it's done.
