Tuscan Pasta and Cheese
- 2 cups Macaroni Noodles
- 12 ounces, weight Italian Sausage
- 1 cup Croutons
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese, Grated
- 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
- 1 Tablespoon Flour
- 1 teaspoon Sage
- 1/4 teaspoons Thyme
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1/4 teaspoons Pepper
- 1- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1 whole Tomato, Sliced
- 1/4 cups Parmesan Cheese, Grated
- Cook and drain noodles according to package directions.
- Meanwhile, cook Italian sausage and drain fat.
- Add drained noodles, croutons, mozzarella cheese, and cream cheese to cooked sausage and mix well.
- Transfer to an ovenproof casserole dish.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
- Stir in flour and seasonings until will blended and bubbly.
- Add milk all at once.
- Bring to a low boil and stir until slightly thickened.
- Pour sauce evenly over noodle mixture.
- Cover and bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
- Arrange sliced tomato on top of noodle mixture and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake, uncovered, for an additional 5-10 minutes.
