Sourdough Orange Waffles
- 2 cups sourdough starter
- 2 large eggs beaten
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup flour, all-purpose
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon orange zest grated
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 13 cup pecans optional
- In a large mixing bowl measure out 2 cup sourdough starter.
- Add 2 eggs, beaten, 1/2 cup cooking oil, 1/2 cup milk, and beat well.
- In separate bowl, mix together 1/2 cup all purpose flour, 2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon grated orange peel and 1 tablespoon sugar.
- Add all at once to starter mixture.
- Beat just until blended.
- Spread batter on lightly greased, preheated waffle grids.
- Sprinkle with 13 cup pecans if using.
- (Ijust mix them into the batter) .
- Cook for 5 to 6 minutes.
- Serve warm waffles with fresh berries, powdered sugar and maple syrup as your choice.
