Sour Cream Twist Recipe
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. hot water
- 4 c. flour
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 Large eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/2 c. lowfat sour cream
- 3 teaspoon vanilla, divided
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- Dissolve yeast in hot water.
- Let stand 5 min.
- Stir together flour and salt.
- Cut in butter and shortening till like peas.
- Stir in Large eggs, lowfat sour cream, 1 tsp.
- vanilla and the yeast mix.
- Mix well.
- Dough should be like pie crust.
- Combine sugar and 2 tsp.
- vanilla.
- Sprinkle board with sugar mix.
- Roll out half of dough, sprinkle with 1 Tbsp.
- sugar.
- Fold into thirds and sprinkle and roll.
- Fold, sprinkle and roll two more times.
- Roll into 16x9 inches, cut in 3 inch strips.
- Twist each strip 2 or possibly 3 times.
- Place on chilled ungreased sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 min.
