French Roast Beef
- 3 Tablespoons Table Salt
- 2 Tablespoons Garlic Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Black Pepper
- 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Shortening
- 1 whole Sirloin Tip Roast
- Preheat oven to 500 degrees.
- In a small bowl, combine the salt, garlic salt, and pepper.
- Wipe off the roast with a wet paper towel.
- Rub seasoning into the roast and brown in a pan (make sure the pan you use is okay to place in an oven and has a lid!)
- over medium heat.
- Put the pan with the lid on top in the oven for 20 minutes.
- Do NOT open the oven door.
- Once the twenty minutes are over, turn the oven off and leave it in without opening for 12 hours.
- Once the 12 hours are up, you may refrigerate it till ready to serve and reheat in the oven on a low temperature covered in foil.
- (The size of the roast is up to youthe smaller the roast, the less seasoning you use!)
