Oatmeal Honey Waffles

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake oats in a single layer in a shallow pan 10 minutes or until lightly toasted, stirring after 5 minutes.
  2. Let cool on a wire rack 10 minutes.
  3. Process oats in a blender or food processor 30 seconds or until finely ground.
  4. Sift together flours, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl; stir in ground oats.
  5. Whisk together eggs, milk, applesauce, and honey in a medium bowl; gently stir in oat mixture.
  6. Cook batter in a preheated, sprayed waffle iron until golden.
