Ayres' Barbecue Sandwich Recipe
- 1 lb grnd beef
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 lrg onion minced 7 Tablespoons
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 3/4 c. ketchup
- 1 x green pepper seeded & minced 8 Tablespoons
- 2 Tbsp. dry mustard
- 1 tsp salt
- Brown meat in shortening till crumbly: Combine remaining ingredients and stir into browned meat; cover and sim- mer slowly 30 min, stirring occasion- ally Watch carefully to prevent burning.
- Serve on toasted buns.
