Beef Pot Pie With Cornmeal Cheese Crust Recipe

  1. Brown beef in oil.
  2. Cook pepper and onion in drippings till tender.
  3. Add in beef, tomatoes, paste, pepper, chili pwdr, sugar, water and salt (NOTE: This may be too much water, start with much less and add in more if necessary-the recipe wasn't clear!).
  4. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 1 hour till beef is tender.
  5. Spoon into a 10x6x2-inch baking dish.
  6. Cover with crust.
  7. Cut slits in top.
  8. Bake, uncovered, at 425 degrees for 20 min.
  9. Sprinkle with cheese and let stand 5 min before serving.
