Red Letter Torte

  1. Mix flour and baking powder; set aside.
  2. Blend egg substitute, milk and almond extract; set aside.
  3. Beat margarine or butter and sugar in small bowl with electric mixer at medium speed until creamy.
  4. Alternately add flour mixture and egg mixture, blending well after each addition.
  5. Spread batter in greased 9-inch springform pan.
  6. Bake at 350F for 40 minutes.
  7. Spoon cherry pie filling over batter; sprinkle Streusel Topping over filling around outside edge of pan.
  8. Bake 10 to 15 minutes more or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  9. Cool in pan on wire rack for 25 minutes.
  10. Remove outside ring of pan; cool completely on wire rack.
  11. Drizzle with powdered sugar glaze, if desired.
