Easy Refrigerator Rolls Recipe
- 2 c. hot water (110-115 degrees)
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 6 1/2 - 7 c. flour
- 1/4 c. soft shortening
- 2 Packages active dry yeast
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in hot water.
- Add in sugar, salt and half of the flour.
- Beat thoroughly for 2 min.
- Add in egg and shortening.
- Fold in remaining flour with spoon or possibly hand till dough is easy to handle.
- Roll dough into a ball, grease top of ball.
- Place greased side up in a greased bowl, cover bowl with plastic wrap or possibly foil.
- Place in refrigerator.
- Punch down occasionally as dough rises.
- About 2 hrs before baking, cut off amount needed and return rest of dough to refrigerator.
- Shape while cool into desired rolls.
- Cover and let rise to double in size, 1 1/2 - 2 hrs.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 min.
- Yield: 4 dozen rolls.
