My Great Grandmother's Peanut Butter Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. (My oven runs a bit hot, so I put mine at 350.

  4. Cream white sugar, brown sugar and crisco until fluffy.
  5. Add eggs and beat well.
  6. 'Beat in peanut butter, baking soda, vanilla and salt.
  7. You'll have to stir in about 1/2 to 3/4 of the flour.
  8. do not use a mixer.This makes an extremely stiff dough you might have to mix in the remaining flour by hand.
  9. Shape dough into little 1- 1 1/2 inch diameter balls.
  10. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  11. Use a fork and press down on the top of the balls to make a depression.
  12. Bake for 7-9 minutes or until edges are browned.
  13. Wait a few seconds before transferring cookies to cooling rack or newspaper.
