Bread and Butter Pickles

  1. Wash the cucumbers and slice thinly.
  2. Chop the onions and peppers and combine with the cucumbers and salt.
  3. Let the mixture stand for 3 hours and drain.
  4. Combine the vinegar, sugar and spices in a large pot and bring to a boil.
  5. Add the drained cucumbers and heat but do not boil.
  6. Pack in canning jars and seal at once while still hot.
