Country Brown Rice Dressing

  1. In medium saucepan prepare rice with water as directed on package.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet cook mushrooms, sausage, and onion until meat is brown and vegetables are tender.
  3. Drain off any fat.
  4. Stir in carrot, cherries or cranberries, parsley and basil.
  5. Stir cooked rice into sausage mixture.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Cook and stir until heated through.
