Rum & Nut Cake With Glaze
- 12 cup rum
- 1 cup walnuts (chopped)
- 1 (19 1/2 ounce) box yellow cake mix
- 4 12 ounces vanilla instant pudding mix
- 4 eggs
- 12 cup vegetable oil
- 12 cup water
- glaze
- 12 cup rum
- 12 cup butter
- 14 cup water
- Preheat oven to 325.
- Grease and flour bunt or tube pan.
- Sprinkle nuts over bottom of pan.
- In large bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, rum, oil and water.
- Beat on low speed until moistened, beat on high 2 minutes.
- pour batter over nuts.
- Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean -- Cool 15 minute invert onto serving plate.
- GLAZE:.
- Melt butter in saucepan.
- Stir in sugar, water and rum.
- Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat.
- Pierce all around top of cake with fork.
- Spoon glaze over top of cake and sides.
- (Turkey baster works well too!)
- Allow cake to absorb glaze.
