Grandmother's Navy Bean Soup Recipe
- 1 pound white navy beans
- 8 c. water
- 1 smoked ham end
- 1 med. onion, finely minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Black pepper to taste
- Sliced carrots
- Wash and soak beans overnight.
- Drain and place in stew pot or possibly Dutch oven.
- Add in all ingredients to water.
- Bring to boil and simmer for 3 to 4 hrs.
- Should be thick but add in more water if necessary.
- Good served with crusty bread!
