Strawberries with Chocolate Fondue

  1. In small saucepan over low heat, heat 1/2 cup heavy cream until steaming.
  2. Add 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons light corn syrup; stir until chips are melted and mixture is smooth.
  3. Remove from heat; stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  4. Pour mixture into 8-ounce ramekin or serving bowl; cool before serving with 12 to 16 large fresh, ripe strawberries, preferably long stemmed, for dipping.
  5. Sprinkle berries lightly with confectioners' sugar, if desired, before serving.
  6. Makes about 1 cup fondue; 6 to 8 servings.
