Southern Cornbread dressing
- 6 cup crumbled cornbread
- 3 cup cornbread stuffing cubes
- 4 oz butter
- 2 cup onion, chopped
- 2 cup finely chopped celery
- 4 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp dried sage
- 1 1/2 tsp dried leaf thyme
- 1 tsp marjoram
- 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- heat oven to 400 F
- In a large bowl combine crumbled cornbread & stuffing cubes
- In a saucepan over medium heat, saute the onion & celery in butter until tender( DO NOT Brown)
- Combine sauteed veggies into bread mixture.
- Stir in chicken broth until moistened.
- Stir in all seasonings and beaten eggs blend well into bread mixture
- Spread mixture into a shallow baking pan a 10" x 15"
- Bake for 20-30 minutes
