Chocolate Cherry Tarts

  1. Cream butter and sugar; blend in melted chocolate.
  2. Add egg and vanilla; beat well.
  3. Sift dry ingredients together and blend into chocolate mixture.
  4. Roll pastry to 1/8-inch thickness on lightly floured pastry cloth.
  5. Cut circles with 3-inch cookie cutter and place in buttered tartlet pans or shallow muffin tins.
  6. Blend cream cheese, sugar, and egg; fold in chopped cherries.
  7. Place 1 tablespoon filling in each tart.
  8. Bake at 350F for 10 to 12 minutes.
  9. Remove from oven, top with cherry half.
  10. Chill.
