Baked Curried Onions Recipe
- 1 lb Onions, sliced
- 1 c. Water
- 3 Tbsp. Butter
- 2 Tbsp. Flour
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp Curry pwdr
- 1/4 tsp Paprika
- 2 x Bouillon cubes
- 1 c. Lowfat milk
- 3 ounce Sharp cheese, grated
- 4 x -(up to)
- 6 slc Bread, cut in triangles and toasted
- Place onions in a saucepan with water.
- Cover and simmer for 10 min.
- In a double boiler, heat the butter and stir in the flour and seasonings.
- Add in bouillon cubes and stir in lowfat milk gradually.
- Add in cheese, saving a few Tbsp.
- to spread on top.
- Stir constantly till mix is very thick.
- Place toast in a buttered 2 qt casserole dish and cover with liquid removed onions.
- Pour sauce over them and sprinkle with cheese.
- Bake at 350 for 20 to30 min.
- Yield: 6 servings.
