Twelve-Dollar Martini

• 1/2 ounce Pernod
• Ice
• 3 ounces gin
• 3/4 ounce dry vermouth
• 1/2 ounce Scotch, preferably Islay
• 1 lemon twist

1. Rinse a chilled martini glass with the Pernod, then pour it out.
2. Fill a pint glass with ice.
3. Add the gin, vermouth and Scotch.
4. Stir well and strain into the prepared martini glass.
5. Garnish with the lemon twist.
