Bringhurst Pecan Cake

  1. Cream butter in large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating
  2. well.
  3. Add
  4. eggs, one at a time, beating mixture well after
  5. each addition.
  6. Combine 3 3/4 cups flour, baking powder and nutmeg;
  7. add to creamed mixture alternately with bourbon, beginning and ending
  8. with flour mixture.
  9. Mix well after each addition.
  10. Dredge raisins
  11. and
  12. pecans
  13. in
  14. remaining
  15. 1/4 cup flour;
  16. stir into batter.
  17. Spoon batter into a heavily greased 10-inch tube pan.
  18. Bake at
  19. 325u0b0
  20. for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until cake tests done.
  21. Cool
  22. cake
  23. in
  24. pan
  25. for
  26. 15
  27. minutes. Remove cake from pan and let cool completely.
