Secretly Simple One Day Dill Pickles

  1. Quarter Pickles, lengthwise.
  2. Place in 1 quart jar or non reactive container.
  3. Layer with sliced onions, garlic and bay leaf.
  4. In a bowl, combine vinegar, sugar, salt, dill seed, and peppercorns.
  5. Heat 3/4 cup of tap water in microwave.
  6. Pour into vinegar mixture and stir until sugar and salt dissolves.
  7. Pour this mixture over cucumbers.
  8. Tighten lid or cover.
  9. Shake a few times to distribute mixture.
  10. All cucumbers should be covered.
  11. Refrigerate for at least 1 day.
