Ayalla's Banana Bread

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F (180C).
  2. Cream the shortening and sugar.
  3. Mix in the bananas.
  4. Mix in the remaining ingredients.
  5. Pour into a greased loaf pan.
  6. Bake 1 hour 15 to 20 minutes at 350F (180C).
  7. NOTES: This recipe makes a heavy, but moist, loaf of banana bread.
  8. If you use more than 3 normal-size bananas, lower the oven temperature and cook for a while longer.
  9. Otherwise, the crust comes out almost overcooked while the middle remains moist and almost undercooked.
